EBT has been part of everyday life in Pennsylvania for decades, and the imagery surrounding it has become instantly recognizable.

This authentic graphic comes from a real EBT sign at Miss Lee’s on 17th and Wharton in South Philadelphia, a beloved neighborhood corner store known by generations of South Philadelphians.

What made the sign special wasn’t just what it said. It was what time had done to it.

Years of weather, sunlight, age, and everyday wear naturally cracked, faded, and distressed the surface. None of those markings were designed. Nature and life created the artwork for us.

That is something I’ve always loved — the way time can leave behind textures, scars, fading, and imperfections that no designer could ever reproduce exactly.

This shirt preserves that moment as it existed in South Philadelphia: a familiar neighborhood object, naturally transformed over time, and turned into an artifact.
